19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately separating with former trainer his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since that period of the previous year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 various events.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is really nice," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in that event earlier this year.

His defensive strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.

However the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an better serving game.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to push for a final set.

Moutet defended 4 initial break points in a close third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner earned the win with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to control a volley after a lengthy match.
